Jeremiah is the book of the prophet Jeremiah, who receives the divine call to prophesy while very young. It is his mission to predict doom upon his nation for its many sins. For this he is hated by the priests and the people. More important than prophecies is the emphasis Jeremiah places on personal religion.

51:30 The mighty men of Babylon have forborne to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwellingplaces; her bars are broken.
