Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me (Jeremiah 32:27)? That is the question God wants all of us to answer in our hearts. It’s easy to answer no to the question; but when you are faced with adversity, do your actions give a different answer? God wants us to have 100 percent confidence in Him with no doubts or misgivings. God gave us the Word so we could have confidence in what He is capable of doing.

The Bible tells us everyone is given a measure of faith. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). The Word also says, Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). When the Word of God is presented to people, they can either believe it or reject it; but faith can only increase when they accept the Word. God is not a respecter of persons, so it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from. God will move wherever He can find faith in action.

Rahab Had Faith in God

The story of the harlot Rahab is a powerful story of redemption and faith in action. What makes her story so different from everyone else in that city is that she believed what she had heard about the God of Israel. That was the key, and it gave her confidence to trust in God.

Rahab had everything against her. She was a woman of the streets, and she degraded herself with men to make money. She lived in a city that was corrupt and full of sin and idolatry. How many days did she wish there was another life for her? How many nights did she cry herself to sleep because her life was so miserable? How many times did she ask herself why she was ever born?

Rahab was an underdog; but God moved for her because when she heard that He could do the impossible, she believed and had faith in what she had heard. It was that faith that moved her to hide the two Israelite spies from the king of Jericho and to redirect the men who were searching for them to look for them outside the gates.

After the king’s men left to pursue the two spies, Rahab went up to the roof where she had hidden them; and she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you (Joshua 2:9). Notice that Rahab didn’t say maybe the Lord had given them the land; she said she knew the Lord had given it to them.

For we have heard [and faith comes by hearing] how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath (Joshua 2:10,11).

Faith Brings Safety and Security

Rahab had confidence in the God of the Israelites because of what she had heard, and she believed their God was the true and living God. That confidence is what led her to hide the two Israelite spies and to make a covenant with them for her and her family’s safety. As long as she kept the scarlet thread in the window, kept her family inside the house and didn’t tell anyone about the spies, she and her family would be spared. And that is exactly what happened.

When Jericho was attacked, Rahab and her family were brought out safely; and they weren’t left behind to find somewhere else to live. They became a part of the family of Israel. Later, Rahab married an Israelite from the tribe of Judah, and she had a son named Boaz. He married a Moabite woman named Ruth; and in that lineage, you find King David and Joseph, Jesus’ earthly father.

So Rahab, a prostitute from a pagan land, became an ancestor of not only a king of the Israelite people but also the King of the entire world, Jesus Christ. Her confidence and faith in God brought her into that royal lineage. Rahab’s slate was wiped clean when she left the city of Jericho behind and joined the Israelite people.

It is the same when you become a child of God and you leave this world of sin behind. No matter what sins you have committed or how many, your slate is wiped clean; and you are welcomed into the family of God. You become part of that royal lineage. And if children [of God], then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17).

Faith Needs Action

Rahab’s story is an inspiring one of how a sinner escaped the wrath of God through faith and grace. Every person that is born into this world is given a measure of faith. The question is are you using it? Faith does you no good if you don’t put it into action.

The Bible says, Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works (James 2:17,18). Simply put, faith without action is dead faith; and God can’t work with dead faith. God was able to move for Rahab because she had working faith.

James wrote about Rahab saying, Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way (James 2:25)? Rahab’s faithfulness was recorded not only in the Old Testament but also in the New Testament. She was even mentioned among the faithful in Hebrews 11, known as the faith chapter. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace (Hebrews 11:31).

Friend, do you have the kind of faith Rahab had? Do you have the kind of faith that would make God want to mention you among the faithful in Hebrews 11? How much confidence do you have in God? When you lack confidence, you will also lack faith; and when you lack faith, you will not perform works of faith. Then you will be an unprofitable servant.

The Unprofitable Servant

In Matthew 25, Jesus told a parable about an unprofitable servant. Jesus compared the Kingdom of Heaven to a man traveling to a far country. While he was gone, he trusted his goods into the hands of his three servants; and he gave each one a certain number of talents based on their ability. One servant received five talents; one received two, and the third one received one talent.

After the master left on his journey, two of the servants traded their talents and doubled their worth. The third servant who had received one talent decided to bury it instead of multiplying it like the other servants did.

When the master returned, it was time for the servants to give an account of their works. The servant who had received five talents gave the master an additional five talents. The servant who had received two talents gave the master an additional two talents. Both of those servants had doubled what they started with, and their master was pleased. He told them, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord (Matthew 25:23).

The servant who had received one talent decided to bury it instead of multiplying it, and his master was not happy. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 25:26-30).

That parable lets us know how important it is to have working faith; but if you don’t have confidence in God, you will be like the unprofitable servant. You will bury what the Lord has given you through grace, and you will not use it.

The servant with the two talents was rewarded the same as the servant with the five talents because the total value was not important. The fact that they had both multiplied what they had been given is what mattered. Remember, the servants had received the talents according to their ability. So, there was no excuse for any of the servants not to be profitable with what they had been given.

Help Build God’s Kingdom

It is the same in the family of God. We all have different abilities, and some have more talents than others. The important thing is are you using your talents for the Lord? Are you increasing your talents? The servant with the one talent buried it because he was fearful. If you lack confidence in God, you won’t trust Him; and you will give in to fear.

When the Lord calls on you to do something in His name that will glorify His Kingdom, do you make excuses as to why you won’t be able to do it? Your answer to God’s call should always be, “Yes, Lord. I will do anything for you.” Have confidence that God knows your abilities and will help you do whatever He requires you to do.

While the master was gone, the servant with the one talent had probably been thinking he was going to get by; but he didn’t. The master had him cast into outer darkness where there was weeping and gnashing of teeth. You can’t think you will get by in this final hour if you don’t use the faith the Lord has given you and multiply it. When you do that, it will help increase God’s Kingdom; and that is what this final hour is all about. God wants to use each one of us.

Christianity is not just about getting your ticket and going to Heaven. You can’t always take the easy way out and be selfish. You have to yield completely to God’s will for your life. Being a Christian means being a servant of God who is helping to bring in the harvest of souls and increase the Kingdom.

Gladly Give to God

You must have confidence in God when it comes to your finances too. You must trust that He will take care of you financially when you tithe and give to His work. If you bury your money so to speak, and don’t give a tenth of what you earn to the Lord, your answer to God’s call for you to give to Him will be no. But if you have confidence in God, you will know without a doubt that He can make your ninety percent go farther than one hundred percent.

The Word says, Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it (Malachi 3:10). Do you have confidence in God’s window-open blessings? Do you believe He will provide for you spiritually, physically and financially? The Lord promises us in His Word that He shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). You can’t look to people to meet your needs; you have to look to God.

The Widow Woman Had Confidence

The Bible tells us of a widow woman who was going to lose her two sons to slavery because she couldn’t pay her creditors. Her husband had been a godly man, and she looked to Elisha, the prophet of God, for help. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil (II Kings 4:2). It doesn’t matter what little you have because when you have confidence in God, He will increase what you have.

Elisha told the woman to go forth and borrow many vessels. Then he told her to shut the door and pour the oil she had into all of those many vessels. The woman obeyed Elisha, and it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed (II Kings 4:6). One pot of oil should never have been able to produce multiple pots of oil; but when you place your confidence in God, He has the power to do anything. Nothing is impossible with God.

After the woman had filled all those pots, Elisha told her, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest (II Kings 4:7). God not only took care of her debt but also gave her extra to cover her future living expenses. Do you think the outcome would have been the same if that widow woman had not obeyed the instructions of the man of God? No. She had put her faith into action when she listened to Elisha because she had confidence that he was a true man of God. Then a miracle took place.

Confidence for Salvation

And this is the confidence that we have in him, [Jesus Christ] that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him (I John 5:14,15). When you have complete confidence in the Lord, you will ask for His divine will to be done in your life; and you will trust in that will. If you lack confidence in the Lord, you will seek your own way and trust your own judgment instead of seeking God for His direction. You must trust that God knows best for your life.

Sinner, Backslider, do you have confidence that the Lord can make you a brand-new creature in Jesus Christ? Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). Do you believe that all your sins can be washed away no matter what they are? Remember that Rahab was a harlot, but the Lord wiped her slate clean.

Friend, you can become a part of God’s family right now by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart. Pray with me and say, Oh, God, save my soul. Forgive me for my sins. I have come home to serve you for the rest of my life. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus. Come on in. Amen. If you meant that prayer, you have Jesus Christ in your heart.

Confidence for a Miracle

Now, Friend, let’s get your miracle for you. The Bible says that believers shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:18). I am a believer, and I’m expecting God to move for you in a great way. It doesn’t matter what sickness or disease is in your body. God made you; He can heal you.

Lord, Heavenly Father, we curse every sickness and every disease in the bodies of these people. Heal them in the holy, blood name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Let everything come to normal and give them the strength they need. Bless them in a great and mighty way. Amen.

Friend, look for every sign of improvement and always give God the praise, the honor and the glory. We will be expecting God to move for each and every one of you. Then send us a message to let us know what God has done for you. God bless you.
